The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County’s (JFoGOC) policies regarding hiring, promotions, and board service are based on ability to do the job and desire to support the breadth of egalitarian Jewish life in Orange County, NY, without regard to age, race, creed, color, national origin, citizenship or immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military status, sex, disability, predisposing genetic characteristics, familial status, marital status, status as a victim of domestic violence, or any other legally protected classification. Religion will only be considered where, as permitted by law, it is deemed to be a bona fide occupational qualification. In addition, some staff or board positions may require personnel whose background, training, and commitment may require special knowledge and understanding of Jewish law, ritual, and tradition in order to further the purposes of JFoGOC (example: Community Rabbi, Shaliach/Emmisary or Jewish Programming/Outreach Associate).
