Looking back on erev Shabbat in Jerusalem is awesome. Now every time Yerushalyim is mentioned in our prayers, I will get goose bumps. Services at the Conservative shul were fantastic. Three rabbis or cantors led different parts of the service and their voices could have been heard in Tel Aviv. I was able to follow along, but alas - I still had no voice. How's that for irony? I love to sing Shabbat songs and could barely whisper. I'll just have to come back again. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel with a few other communities and a female acapela group. They sang a few Shabbat songs and then did some barber shop quartet tunes. Very entertaining. We went for a short walk after dinner and then called it a night.
