Rabbi Jonathan Zimet will speak about the Kindertransport or “Freedom Train” which rescued ten thousand children from Nazi Europe, and his mother’s involvement with one family, the Schlesingers, who created “The Hostel” for twelve such children in London. As we see history repeating itself in today’s refugee crisis, Zimet will speak about what people who cared could do to save refugees.
