October 18th - The New World: Jewish Life in America at the Turn of the Century will explore the pressures that eastern European Jews faced as they made the decision to leave their old life behind, moving to cities in the new world, especially New York. Was life on the lower east side just a bigger shtetl, or were they really in a golden land of opportunity? How can you maintain a Jewish identity in America?
Both Classes are free and open to all. (men too!) You do not have to attend part 1 to come to part 2. If you need a ride please call Mary Jean at the Temple office.
