Congregation Eitz Chaim will again participate in the Monroe Crop Walk to End Hunger One Step At A Time. As always, we donate and walk in memory of Beth Miller and this year we remember Jerome Spector as well. The Monroe NY Crop Walk has dedicated the 2020 walk to Jerome’s memory. As Jerome's wife, I am trying to fill Jerome’s shoes by leading our team this year. Our team is taking action to help families living with hunger. We're asking everyone who can help Congregation Eitz Chaim Monroe Woodbury Jewish Community Center reach these two goals:

  •     more meals for the growing number of people who need them in our community, and
  •     more food security around the world.

You can join the Congregation Eitz Chaim team as a walker and donate or just donate to the team and not walk. If the walk is live this year it will be on Sunday October 25, 2020. To register as a walker or to donate please go to the Eitz Chaim team here.

One of the nice things about donating to the Crop Walk to End Hunger is that you can direct where your donation goes. We suggest that you direct your donation to Mazon, a national Jewish organization inspired by Jewish values and ideals which works to end hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds in the United States and Israel. If you wish to have your donation go to Mazon, please do the following:

  •     If you sign up as a walker do not donate on the registration page because you cannot direct your donation to Mazon on that page. Complete your registration and then go back to the page, add your donation, click on alternate agency on the bottom orange band and enter Mazon.
  •     It you are not signing up as a walker you can donate on our page here, click donate then click the alternate agency on the bottom of the page and direct your donation to Mazon. A portion of all donations will be used in our local community.

Please donate to our team today to make these goals a reality!
